The SNAP program needs a massive overhaul, as does the entire welfare system which is fraught with abuse.
It should be a HAND UP to help those who find themselves on hard times.
It has become a HAND OUT for those who choose not to work.
People who do work provide the money for the system that allows those who WON'T work to suck the teats of the gov't cash cow.
I remember the first housing project built in my small town in the 70's. Within ONE YEAR the apartment complex was trashed, but several of the residents had new Cadillacs parked outside. Priorities 🙄🤦♀️.
Knew a guy whose mother lived in NYC. She came from a Caribbean island in the 70s, started doing drugs in the 80s, and has lived on food stamps and Section 8 ever since. Our tax $$ at work 🤬
We allow - and thus encourage - sloth, helplessness, and an entitlement mentality that's passed on through generations.
Bad behavior should not have beneficial consequences.
It's disgusting, and it has to change.
