Some US citizens are sick and disabled and are not able to work. As a patient advocate, I knew many people who were utterly bedridden. And, btw, they would have been thrilled if they could work or take classes.
I also knew of people who committed suicide because no one could help them. Sometimes, their pain was too much to bear.
But, since our government is usually compassionate, all of that will most likely be taken into consideration.

I’d say 40+ million people on SNAP benefits is a tad beyond the actual number of people that really need help. And that’s what local communities and churches are for, not big government.
