TED Cruz reacts to Tax dodging story about Illinois Governor.
J.B. Pritzker had five toilets removed from a vacant Gold Coast mansion adjacent to his primary residence, allowing the property to be classified as "uninhabitable" and slashing its assessed value from approximately $6.3 million to $1.1 million.
The incident, which unfolded in 2015 on Astor Street, resulted in property tax breaks totaling $331,000 over three years, according to a report by the Cook County Inspector General released in October 2018.
