I had a mother that didn't allow crying even when we got whipped with a willow branch. She sent us out to get our own whipping stick...she always said "and don't bring me a small one " OF COURSE we would never bring in a small one, they wrapped around you many times & left welts. today that would be child abuse...we didn't have to be told twice...I would never change the way I was raised
