I recently did research on the cost of diabetes treatment. It is astronomical! The equipment and medicines themselves cost people thousands of dollars! Not to mention the cost of doctor's visits, specialists; God forbid you need an operation on your legs, or your eyes start going.

One of the things I specialize in in my health coaching is working with people that are pre diabetic. So far, every client I have worked with has balanced their blood sugar and are now out of the danger zone. They just changed their lifestyle.
That's fantastic! Type 2 is more a symptom of poor health habits. It used to be called "sugar sickness" back a century or two ago. How do you help those with Type 1?
I haven't worked with type one, but there are still dietary and lifestyle measures that would be helpful. Also, upregulating certain genes by activating certain genetic pathways that can be done, and reducing oxidative stress and inflammation certainly beneficial. Believe it or not, our mind is the most powerful healing mechanism we have as well...What we focus on, we tend to give life to. We have been conditioned to believe that diseases are incurable, and so we adapt to focusing on that rather on how amazing our bodies are at having the ability to heal themselves of many things.
