Guess what...If the government shutdown continues past 5 days, two thirds of the IRS's employees (50,000) will be furloughed without pay. The remaining will be forced to continue working without pay

Funding from the The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 introduced by Chuck Schumer, part of Bidens Build Back Better plan is what is keeping the IRS running but will run out after the 5th day.
