This falls under Utah's medical examiner laws, which require the state medical examiner to investigate and assume custody of bodies in violent or suspicious deaths, including homicides.
Remember, Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet the doctor described Kirk’s bone as “so healthy” and “so impressive that he’s like the man of steel.” The bullet was eventually found lodged just beneath the skin. Other reports said the coroner found it.
