2. SCOTUS Emergency Docket - issued an administrative temporary stay that allows President Donald Trump to proceed with his firing of Federal Trade Commission (FTC) commissioner Rebecca Kelly Slaughter. Slaughter has til 9/15/2025 to respond.
3. SCOTUS was reported to have already granted emergency requests during its summer recess to implement policies tied to President Trump’s second-term agenda, reinforcing a pattern of supporting expansive executive power claims. This includes backing Trump’s authority to fire members of independent federal agencies, such as labor boards and the consumer product safety commission.
