AS NATIONAL PURPLE HEART DAY 🎖️💜

The Purple Heart is the oldest military award still in use
& is awarded to service members who are killed or wounded
while engaging in enemy action
or resulting from acts of terrorism.
More than 1.8 million medals have been presented since 1782.

President/CiC Trump opened the event noting that dozens of
the award’s recipients were at the ceremony.
He had special words for the 3-veterans
who sent POTUS their medals
after the 2024 shooting in Butler, PA. [AP]
When he signed the Proclamation POTUS said,
“No autopen, right‼️”

🎖️ President John F. Kennedy is the only POTUS
to receive a Purple Heart & a Navy & Marine Corps Medal.
On 8-1-43 Lt. Kennedy's boat PT109
was rammed by a 2000 ton Amagiri. 2 men died instantly.
When asked how he became a war hero, JFK said,
