The Bible says Elijah would come before Christ, paving the way for Christ. And that it was John the Baptist. Who came in the spirit of Elijah. John was not the reincarnation of Elijah. John was not possessed by the Ghost of Elijah. John had the mind of Elijah. The spirit is the intellect, knowledge, truth. When the Holy Spirit fell upon the people on Pentecost, they all understood every language. The Holy Spirit is God's intellect, knowledge, not a ghost.
