Pedophilia in families is far, far more common than many would wish to think. My mother's father was one. He came on to me when I was 4 years old. I told him to go away. He did, praise God! Saw him briefly again when I was 11, and refused to speak to him. The last I saw of him was at his funeral. I clearly remember feeling quite happy that he had died. It was a few years later that I figured out what he was and that my mom was an alcoholic because of what he did to her. She never told anyone, never got the real help she needed. "...and the sins of the fathers .. go unto the 7th generation..."
By recognizing and saying no, you stopped and broke that curse.

You know those who commit Incest in many cases will also victimize other kids outside their family, too, but even so - to lack empathy for a child means IMO that the family member HAS NO SOUL. Monsters just the same.
I know women who were victims of Incest in cases by the Dad, and I believe such perps should receive a Mandatory Death Sentence for raping children (I think all rapists should receive Mandatory Death Sentences).
Problem is, that could load additional Trauma on the victim who are already psychologically and physically traumatized by the Parent that was supposed to love them and protect them from such violations - so the only alternative in cases of Incest IMO is Mandatory Life In Prison, no chance at parole, no exceptions, and all assets seized for the victim(s) sake and benefit.
That way the victim carries no additional guilt or trauma over the death of a relative, but then all children are protected.
