I don't know about other countries, but did you know that during the mass (and ordered) digitization of films that were shot on classic film material, "minor" adjustments were made to these films? That's why you find so many "strange coincidences" in these digitized remakes of old films.

And not just in the film editing room, but also the sound engineers - one told me a lot of things just days before he died, another (again, a generational sound studio) confirmed it. The producers (I don't know of a single clean one) that I know of just listened to instructions and passed everything on to the director, the editing room and the sound guys even during the actual filming.
