Some seem to believe we are being held back bc various groups in the medical industry, presumably led or controlled by religious leaders, are intentionally holding the technology back. This view assumes the decisionmakers have access to the results of all the experiments with these technologies and that is simply not possible. Most people on AU are aware of special access programs or "black sites" and other programs that are run out of the public eye. For example, one commentator says he uses publicly available information to inform his perspective and there is the disconnect: the information is not publicly available. I agree with him on a public dialogue and these have happened under bioethics commissions and should continue. My suggestion is to remove the religious bias so many have to evaluate what actual data and facts are available to suggest these technologies are as successful as many would like them to be.
