Significant Changes to U.K. Childhood Vax Schedule
"UK childhood vax schedule undergoing significant changes from July 1, 2025, & Jan 1, 2026, to include cessation of routine Hib/MenC (Menitorix) vax for children turning 1-yr old due to manufacturer ending production & excellent population control provided by adolescents MenC vax...."
Main changes:
- 4th dose of hexavalent (6-in-1) vax being introduced via new routine appt at 18-mnths, replacing Hib dose no longer given at 1-yr., intended to provide longer-term protection against Hib.
- Monovalent HepB dose offered at 1-yr removed from selective neonatal HepB programme schedule, as hexavalent vax at 18 months will replace need for this dose
- Second meningitis B dose moved from 16 wks to 12 wks
- First PCV dose moved from 12 wks to 16 wks
- Second MMR dose moved from 3 years 4 months to 18 months.
