I live in the South Island New Zealand where our bees make the infamous Native Manuka honey. I know some local bee hives were destroyed (apparently) due to a mite??? I saw very few bees this summer - or even wasps for that matter (I don't miss the wasps) I even had to manually pollinate my sweetcorn! We need to look after the bees!
