Gnosticism is a slippery slope in that the consideration was that all physical existence was evil and only spiritual was holy. That said Jesus Christ was never physical but only spiritual- wrong, very wrong. This belief also speaks of all creation coming from the "pleura" and existed due to "emanations" coming from the Pleura. It is a belief that has no foundation but many conjures... more evil and confusion than anything else and certainly not from YHWH. Evils desire is to divide and conquer, bit by bit - remain steadfast and don't give in to other "teachings" Seek the LORD while you still can.

I think you missed the point. YHWH is not who you think, according to the apostles writings, but Yaldabaoth, the cruel evil god who THINKS he is the highest god. The one who genetically altered us from the one being that contained both male and female, and separated the 2 in the garden to control them. Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.(male and female in the same body.) When YHWH separated the female from the male the DNA contained the spirit of Eve, who was way smarter than the little evil gods. She was still divine.
I choose to believe the apostles that traveled with Jesus more than Paul who never met Jesus when he was alive. I listen to what Jesus said, and the gnostic documents resonate with me, so I won't be changing my mind at this point.
I am open to new evidence, but not any just any speculation.

St. Paul stated, “For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, ...
and him crucified.”
Meaning, the gnostic push 'knowledge and enlightenment' more than knowing Jesus Christ, who is the Source, they missed the mark.

I get what's being said about the d'vil running the religions leading people astray, but is studying the gnostics teaching a direct line to communing w/ God?

Knowing the Lord is different than talking about Him or remembering verses, the Holy Spirit ignites that 'spark' of Life of The Word working in us - renewing our minds.
He does the work, and we abide in Him, lest any man boast.

We are born with a direct line. The spark at conception establishes our connection to our Creator, which donated a small piece of itself to be my spirit. I do not need to worship in a church, I can talk to My Creator anytime I want. I still have my connection, and do not plan on giving it back.
