Trump is my President We are in a war of God vs Evil Hold the Line Justice is Coming. Texas Strong #savethechildren WWG1WGA

This hive was a 4 frame starter kit last year it made 47lbs of honey plus I left 70 lbs on for winter- I split the hive 4 weeks ago taking honey bees and capped bees for another hive.
Yesterday I checked them and I have 1 deep 2 medium supers 90% full of honey.
Nectar flow starts in May here but these super producers are way ahead.
60-70lbs on a deep box
35-40lbs on a medium box

Will pull at least 120 lbs in about a week

Then end of July end of September will harvest again

These are special bred Texas 5000
High producers and very docile
I suspect a lot of mesquite on this batch
It's an absolutely amazing hobby.

I have contemplated apiary, but it's is so windy and dry here, cold in winter, and there is not a lot of flowering vegetation around us (high desert grassland), I do not think bees would do well here.

I did hear a swarm go by on Thursday afternoon though, and, we have been visited by 2 swarms who paused on their journeys in the past.

Of we move, I will look at the idea again.

Sounds like you have very happy bees.😊

May I suggest a slim book called the 'Bee Pollen Bible' by Royden Brown.
30+yrs ago heard him on the radio talking about bees and their handiwork, and have been a honey devotee ever since.
He says the bee will range eleven miles from the hive in search of pollen, and the goodies that brings w/it. Honey is Miraculous. 👆
