SUS on their "No taxes" promise !
On Thursday, the Oregon Senate passed a funding bill for the Portland Diamond Project. The bill passed with a 24 to 5 vote.
SB 110 would authorize up to $800 million in privately backed bonds to support the construction of a ballpark in Portland.

“Portland Diamond Project is pleased that state senators overwhelmingly passed SB 110. This funding mechanism for a professional baseball stadium in Portland will not raise taxes on Oregonians,” said Craig Cheek, Founder and President, Portland Diamond Project.

“Once the bond is paid off, all new income tax revenue will go to the general fund to support other state initiatives like public education, public safety, and infrastructure. We look forward to conversations with legislators on the House side and we’re hoping to see the same kind of support in their chamber.”
