This has been going on since TV started. The old black and white comedies would use canned laughter at stuff they wanted the audience to laugh at. The characters stop talking when the canned laughter is playing and continue when it stops. They are still doing it today. Watch a sitcom and pay attention to the laughter.

The hopeful news with this is that once people start to believe the herd has shifted, they'll join in. So even TDS sufferers who are now ready to vandalize Teslas will quickly switch sides if they think they're in the minority. And the numbers don't lie... the herd is definitely shifting as Trump policies bear fruit!
