#NEW Trump EPA Is Ending Animal Testing, After Biden Erased Deadlines For Termination Of Practice
Lee Zeldin Is planning to ban animal testing at the Environmental Protection Agency. The EPA was phasing out animal testing during the first Trump administration but the Biden administration erased the deadlines, effectively terminating the policy.
The EPA using animal testing to test how toxic exposure to chemicals are on humans, using tens of thousands of mammals a year - doing some of its testing in North Carolina.
During Trump's first term that testing was to be reduced by 30% by 2025, and eliminated by 2035. He also ordered that retirement plans be put in place for some of the test animals, like rabbits.
The Biden administration canceled the plans, and scrapped the retirement goals for the rabbits being tested.
