my fathers brothers father in law had the biggest production of maple syrup in vermont for a long time (years and years ago). along with a saw mill. maple syrup was a staple in that family and they were never sick. i think they lived into their high 90s/ my aunt(the daughter) lived to be 101 and just passed a few years ago, at 90 she tarred her flat roofed house by herself and baby sat for the neighbor lady who was i her 80s.. she was indeed quite a woman.. thanks for reminding me of her and her family. they moved to california 60 years ago.for work..
