I thought and wondered, except for military bases, does United States OWN any land in a foreign country?

I think so, but that is a good question! I know some or most of the bases are like land leases or so. Hmmm. I do not know!

The United States directly owns land beyond its borders primarily through territories, embassies, military bases, and other government facilities abroad. While the U.S. doesn't "own" foreign countries, it holds sovereignty over territories like Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico. In addition, embassies and consulates worldwide are considered U.S. property under international law.

As for exact numbers or acreage, it's challenging to quantify, as this involves a mix of diplomatic spaces, military installations, and territories. If you're curious about specific locations or properties, I can try to narrow that down further! Let me know!
