Yep. We have had all three at one time or another...
The punting pole variety makes a great screen. We used to have it in front of our dining window, as it was about 10 ft away from the neighbors side entrance where they liked to sit and smoke.
Worked really well, very quickly we had it installed in a large galvanized trough to contain it.
At the moment, we have clumping by our patio in a raised bed, but, its quite windy where we are, and I think I may have to move it, it just does not seem to enjoy being there.
