Weather Alert: 'Extremely' High Risk Of Wildfires Through Weekend; 6 States Under Red Flag Warnings | IBTimes
Six states have been placed under expanded red flag warnings amid a severe weather outbreak in the U.S. this weekend that could trigger "catastrophic grassland fire danger" for affected areas.

Me and my constant curiosity decided to research which States have the most wind turbines and the answer isβ¦β¦
Texas, Iowa, Oklahoma, Kansas and Illinois. They probably use them to generate electricity to their underground dumbs. Maybe the reason for the fires.π€·π»ββοΈ The tornadoes predicted today are in some of those states as well.ππ
These states have the most turbines because they have the most consistent high velocity wind. It isn't any more complicated than that.
Land there also tends to be cheaper to lease because the farmer can still raise crops on most of it and there aren't many local people to complain about sound, dead birds, EMF, or visual ugliness.
I suspect that the leases are a long term land grab as much as for any potential profit to the utility companies.
We have a lot of them in the upstate NY Finger Lakes region and we have no wind there. My only guess is it has something to do with the finger lakes and what has been rumored to happen there. They always give me a really bad vibe when I see them.
