Please note that this skyway is relatively up to 5000+ feet in height at times and you should make sure tires and car is checked before coming on this drive due to the fact that gas stations or repair places are many miles from where we are driving, it is very very rural and some cell phone reception may not be available in places!

And if anyone was coming to the area for a couple of days, there are some hikes and other special areas like Maple Springs Overlook (300 degree views at the top of a desolate mountain), Yellow Creek Falls (children and pets can do this trail), and John Muir Joyce Kilmer Loop Trail - the Giant Trees and if lucky, the blooming of the Trillium's.

Depending on the season, there is also a Swimming area and boat launch place near the Santleetlah dam that is also fascinating to visit!

Many decades ago, I played 1A high school baseball, basketball and football. Robbinsville, Andrews, and Murphy had teams that we played in the Smoky Mountain conference.

My high school no longer exists due to a county consolidation.
