But heaven forbid that tax payer grants actually HELP AMERICANS.

Have looked into Grants over the years.
They like to identify a target to help then cut out those who fit but have a slight exception.

These grant CONTRACTORS are people who like to be IN CONTROL..like King Of The Hill we played as children.
Government is much the same...these controllers like to at all levels push POWER that does NOT belong to them,,they tend to be small minded with antics...reminding you how they can...till a very high up authority pulls them up quick ... letting individual know the power they wield IS NOT THEIRS OR EVEN THERE.

Every so often there is someone truly just. Rare yes..but they shine.

I have watched Limitations & Boundaries put in place to keep you down so you are limited to break out of the maze. Doing it anyway takes you to a better place over all but the breath of penalties still show up.

I had someone years ago offer to show me how to get GRANTS approved.
He didn't know me but wanted to...

I HATE FRAUD...and FAKES!
...always have...the idea of someone rigging my win made me sick.

I may mess up or get it wrong but being real doing my best seems a higher priority then fraud.

Compromise only leads to more compromise!
...it instigates desire that makes for craving more.

These grants are FLAUNTED where at the expense of real need.
I know someone deep in this...you get so you are attached because of income from Grant. Lots of holidays & Vacations (fringe benefits)
hard to walk away from...sad.

You are so right! Worked at a uni for 25 years. They tell profs from the outset you must get grants, that’s how you get promoted. It’s sick and attracts fake research, fake and harmful conclusions, makes researchers cheaters. I could go on, but finally escaped, put my ‘career’ behind me, we rarely speak of it. I feel sorry for the newbies who have no idea what science turns out to be.
