i ditto that... my hospital experience was similar. as i saw docs making up diagnoses cause they needed x number of admissions or lose their job at the hospital. it would affect the patients . i couldnt work there any more as i was the bad guy anyway for encouraging patients to have a labor plan (OB) with the thought that this baby didnt read the plan and things might change or not go as planned but at least put some control in what they wanted not what docs wanted.. it was a job that was a passion and honestly can say i had a good handle on it..labor and delivery was spiritual to me.. of course the best ones were the ones i delivered cause the docs didnt make it. the ER doc was in the room and was afraid of the whole process. he watched everything i did.. no mess. no fuss.. the doc i didnt trust hated that i did it. he was the savior.to himself and the reason i left. dangerous man.still working. then i went to corporate. got good money. hated my job.but learned about what T went thru.

Years back when they came into my town to pillage by forgery & fraud, I worked with 2 great Detectives on 2 cases, one former NYPD & the other former Military Intelligence. In each case we cornered the perps & got them successfully convicted to hard prison time. One, an escaped felon wanted in several States, got Life for Habitual. Those arrests led to other arrests.

I remember when I was a kid my mother would have the taxes figured out and always owed money. She would file them but never send the check. I always worried that one day someone would show up at the door and haul her away for not paying. I'm 74 and am fully awake but that fear is still within me.

Exactly! Bastards are merciless. I recently paid back a sibling for a $30K loan from 18 years ago to pay the IRS, who was sending me the threatening letters. I pretty much signed over inheritance I had just received.
I was glad to pay back my sibling. But at the same time it pisses me off that I felt pressured to pay the irs back then for money they had done absolutely zero toward earning any part of what I earned in what is a sometimes dangerous job.
Why the FK do they get "their" cut? They didn't do a damn thing to help me earn it, and they didn't spend it on a damn thing I wanted it spent on. I have no interest in bombing poor bastards in the Middle East.
