I have ask a question, right now the defunct corporation of the United States of America is in debt to the Fed/central bank for $34 trillion. If we now have the gold to back our $ again and begin issuing US treasury notes instead, couldn't we just say screw you to the central bank? I mean they have no army, they have no way to really force the US to pay it back. The entire central banking system is a ponzi scheme anyway. They just print money as needed, nothing backing it. I am not an economist so I really don't know/understand the implications of not paying it back.
