Something just occurred to me...Octo means 8 and on the Roman Calendar October was the 8th month. Soooo....Could Red October actually have been in August on our calendar? Hmm....Wasn't August supposed to be a "HOT MONTH"??? Or am I remembering wrong,...

You are right about all that but, I don't recall any huge events in August unless something happened in the shadows.
