The DoD listed 4 Christmas-related Military events:

THE BATTLE OF TRENTON, 1776
George Washington & his Army of teenagers
crossed the freezing Delaware & at dawn on Dec. 26,
2,400 frozen Continentals pushed into Trenton,
surprising the enemy, the DS British,
who surrendered within an hour & a half.

FIRST BATTLE AT FORT FISHER, Christmas 1864,

1896: "STARS & STRIPES FOREVER"
On Christmas Day 1896, while crossing the Atlantic
the notes for "Stars & Stripes Forever" came to Philip Sousa.

1972: OPERATION LINEBACKER II in North Vietnam,
ended U.S. involvement in the Vietnam war.
On Christmas, both sides were given a 36-hour break
