I always buy organic carrots.

If a field is over sprayed with too many chemicals, carrots are or were planted to soak up the chemicals.

Most of the time you can taste the difference in organic vs conventional raised carrots.

Same with bananas. Organic are sweet and tasty... conventional grown taste like cardboard.
