In the 80's things changed. My wife at the time was half Mexican and whip smart. W/in a year she was Postmaster at a suburban burg 8 miles from our door.
If you were a minority, you were hired, ability be damned she would say to me. She left me and the Post office shortly thereafter. 😆
Think we need a form of the Post going forward just don't yet see what we'll require. 'Mailbox Full of Values' can go away and not bother many.
