Some fresh fruits and vegetables are sprayed with petroleum-based waxes too.
Bought fresh peaches, ate one and had a horrid stomachache. Read on the bottom of the peach bag that it was sprayed with a petroleum-based wax.
The rest of the peaches went into the garbage.
Didn't know I had to read the label on the bottom of fresh fruit bags. Some say they use petroleum-based or they say it could be petroleum among other options. Either way I don't buy them anymore.
