...and not only that. I heard that these hotels were broken into using a spare key for case of fire. It was sealed in an envelope. And this always happened when people were not in their rooms at the time.
It also happened that these hotels collected money for accommodation in advance (deposit) and did not return anything at all - on the contrary - the hotels claimed additional fees for accommodation and charged for non-existent services.
Sometimes, hotels also happened that there was a break-in through the closet (i.e. the ventilation shaft in the rooms) when the guests were sleeping at night. The closet cannot be closed from the outside, so the guests found the closet open in the morning, which fortunately the thieves did not use to get in. They couldn't fit in because the windows could only be opened halfway.
They also stole letters from postbox via spare key from sealed with a signature envelope had arrived.
