I am still in a lot of pain at the sternum and incision site, but they tell me that's normal. all the nerves are healing and they had me spread wide open for the surgery" Also feeling tons of anxiety lately too. They are switching me off the beta blocker( metoprolol) they have me on because causing many side effects and going to a different beta blocker (Carvedilol) for time being, the lowest dose that can be prescribed, which is 3.125mg. I am supposed to start cardio rehab 12/4/2024, which Dr believes will help sternum and muscles to loosen up some and maybe feel better" I am hanging in there, however has been an overwhelming process to say the least" Thank You for asking & your concerns Fren"

Your cardio rehab starts on the same day I got sober from alcohol 16 years ago so it’s a special day for me and I pray it’s also a beautiful beginning for you as you begin your journey to better health. It takes time to heal from whatever ails us but finding that God is always on that trip with us is such a soul satisfying and joyful discovery. I could never have survived without Him.

my father in law had the same surgery. he complained of the sternal pain the most. he did well otherwise.. take deep breaths as this will open up the spaces between the ribs- those all tight but it is the connectionof the sternum to the
rib cage with metal wiring metals used that is bothering you.. i have metal in my shoulder and honestly it never went away. 20 plus years now.. the meds you are on are not good either as i am sure you realise but temporary.. try to find natural pain therapy and you will also feel better.. the worst is over dear Dale but the waiting for healing becomes the challenge as we want it yesterday. hang in there. you are blessed with a spiritual mind far beyond some of us and you will be great again...
