My mom used to fry up a ton of chicken that we packed into our old metal cooler with dry ice. She froze water in plastic jugs. We loaded up in our Ford station wagon and traveled from Wichita to Phoenix with our family of 8. And, we drove straight through so we had no hotel stops. We did that to some degree when our kids were young. Those were great memories😊

Great memories Mary, we had a station wagon we would all pile into, we never stopped to eat or sleep either, we use to have so much fun on road trips as a kid. We don’t travel much now but when the kids were little it was the same for us, cooler of food and water.❤️❤️🌻🌻

My grandchildren would think the world was ending if we took a trip with them and they had no hotels or iPads. It was the simple things in life that we enjoyed and felt grateful for. Hopefully we will see things turn around for our grandkids.
I agree with you on so many levels. I had my grandson for a week this summer he’s 6, the boy could not go 30 minutes without saying can I go play on my iPad while we out picking berries on a beautiful day. My 5 year old granddaughter knows don’t bring iPad to grandmoms😂🤣
