Developing story: In response to student protests, an Oregon school district closed all schools and offices on Nov. 15 after it was revealed they did not report to law enforcement at least six instances of documented cases of children reporting allegedly being s—xually abused by teachers.

The damning revelation emerged after two@StHelensSD teachers were arrested for child s—x crimes on Nov. 12. Current teacher Eric Stearns and retired teacher Mark Collins were charged with various offenses. Stearns, a choir teacher, was allowed to teach while he was under active investigation for the child s—x crimes.
