The problem is finding incandescent light bulbs for sale. All I've been finding is for appliances, or odd shaped bases.

Even advertised ones online when you look closer are LEDs.

We just resorted to using the oven bulbs which are only 40Watt, common at supermarkets, but you get used to their soft light and at least they are available and inexpensive.

I nabbed a few 75 watt bulbs at a garage sale this summer for a couple bucks, they didn't make any noise when shook so hope they work. Haven't used them yet, husband sometimes needs them for chicks or baby ducks for warmth.

I'm going to stock up on some appliance bulbs now if they will work in other lighting fixtures.

They are so hard to find in large wattages, but yes, the oven incandescent bulbs should fit in any normal bulb socket. They just aren't as bright, but in a lot of overhead fixtures even you don't want to use too high a Watt bulb, just because they get hot. So 40W all around we found works great, eyes adjust to it, and it gives the room a warmer look because those bulbs are also clear ones. Right pretty.

Most of my overhead fixtures use 3 or 4 bulbs each, that should be plenty of light even if they are only 40 watts.

If you ever see the 3-way incandescent bulbs for sale anywhere let me know... please!

Yes, and they'll stay cooler. Try 'em out, see how they do. I think 2-packs at my supermarkets were like $2.50 or thereabouts.
