TOKYO/SEOUL - The Japanese Prime Minister's Office has reported that North Korea has launched a "suspected ballistic missile". The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said that it detected several short-range ballistic missiles launched into the East Sea (Sea of Japan) from the North Hwanghae Province, North Korea, around six hours before presidential elections were set to be held in the United States.
The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said, "We have strengthened surveillance and vigilance in preparation for additional launches and are maintaining full readiness by closely sharing related information with the U.S. and Japanese authorities"..
