The saltwater can compromise lithium-ion batteries, leading to thermal runaway, and that can burn down your home. That includes scooters, e-bikes, golf carts and tools. Get it away from your home.

A wonder what will happen to flooded EVs in WNC? Although not saltwater, muddy water has minerals in it.
Even flooded gas vehicles have to be sold as flood damaged. My understanding is some components may wear out sooner.
To be completely honest, i don't know much about EV's and or the effects of salt verses fresh water to really comment on it.

Not only that, proper disposal of those items has to be done, you can't just throw it away, and I heard on the radio, any type of water, salt or without salt. Charging stations were backed up and they were telling people to think before they drive because of delays their car would run out of energy perhaps before they got to a charging station!
