The puzzling aspect of this carving? I’ve seen videos of the Chinese using that same tool to kill dogs with. The video is pure evil that comes through the screen. Couldn’t watch the whole thing. Just saw enough to see this actual tool, with longer handles so the animals wouldn’t bite them because they were very much alive. A strangely inefficient procedure. Unless there was another reason for doing it that way.
