In college, by the Grace of GOD, I wrote a thesis entitled "Conforming to Alienation or Alienating to Conform"
Back then I didn't know 'when the BIBLE' was written but 'Alienation' came to be in the Garden when Adam and Eve chose wrongly.
They were separated from their connection w/ the LORD - severed like a umbilical cord or 'source' of their Livelihood.
Those conforming to the 'world's way' unknowingly won't be Judged by GOD as those 'knowingly' sinning against HIM.
Unbelief is a sin, but it's our 'natural state' until God awaken us to His Truth. A sinner can't repent, or Choose God, if they're dead in sin.
