Subtle but significant change between generations that I feel for younger generations. Music was so much more of our lives in the 70s. We'd hang out with friends just to listen to music. We'd turn it on when we were hanging out, working in the yard, cleaning, driving anywhere, when we were chilling, etc.
There was so much good music in those days, even though you might not be hearing your favorite song, eventually it would play and most of what led up to it was pretty good, too. And that's just the radio.
We had stacked stereo components at home with killer speakers, equalizers, amps, radio receivers, turntables, cassette decks, etc. An ex-GF and I were just laughing the other night about how my car stereos were worth more than the cars they were in. Pioneer, baby!
