NO.
Hospice care is for someone who IS dying already.
Like someone who has renal failure and Alzheimers, can't eat or drink and isn't really conscious and is 87 years old.
Someone who is INEVITABLY dying like we all eventually do.
In Hospice they are no longer trying to cure you but give you painkillers and make your death less painful and you more comfortable.
As an aside, putting a patient on that status is also preparing the loved ones for the impending death.
I hate allopathic medicine but that's besides the point.
Someone made a mistake or misled me.
Tom was placed there for a few days waiting to go home. It was a nicer place to wait than at the hospital, I was told. We had nurses and aides ready to care for him at home. Hospital bed set up at our home. The date of transfer kept being delayed.
When the day he was to come home arrived, he died early that morning.
Thank you, YankeeCarolyn.
I think some entity had a target on Tom. I felt it but didn't think through what was happening at the time. That period of time was like a memory fog. We were separated for a while and I couldn't help him.
