Food and drinks you see everyday like Coca Cola, Hot Cheetos, even some dog foods contain the food dye red 40. Red 40 is made from petroleum and contains benzene, a known cancer-causing substance. Yes, they are putting oil and chemicals in our food and drinks. These dyes are numbered because there are no actual real ingredients in it. You may ask, “how unhealthy is Red 40”.

Red 40 can damage your DNA

Both adults and children have reported upset stomach, migraines, jitteriness, nervousness, and inability to concentrate after a high intake of Red Dye 40. The CSPI released a report that says artificial food dyes pose a “rainbow of risks,” including everything from allergies to cancer.
Red dye 40 is banned in some countries, including the United Kingdom, due to concerns about its potential behavioral effects on children.
