If you have recently moved away from CA, NV, OR, or WA,

you need to immediately contact your previous county’s elections office to CANCEL your voter registration.

In CA, you have to mail in a CA Voter Registration Cancellation Form.

Why is this important? In the states mentioned above, voters receive a mail-in ballot (whether or not someone has requested one).

So, if you don’t cancel your previous voter registration, someone could potentially vote on your behalf.

When you register to vote at your CURRENT address, you must also make sure you’re no longer registered at your OLD address.
