Am I mistaken to think dogs are not suppose to have nuts (peanut butter)?

Technically, peanuts are legumes, not nuts, but I get your thinking. My dog has a bit of peanut butter every other day or so .... also, when she goes to the groomers, they give all the dogs peanut butter to get them to go along with the brushing or nail trimming easier.
