People are going to be shocked when they finally open their eyes to the horrible things the church has been doing for a long time. They do not want to hear or see it even when it's right there out in front.
The institution is such an emotional attachment, that even when the abuses to children became common knowledge, many people kept supporting them. Quite disturbing, imo.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some of the parents fussed at their children when they told the parents the priests had hurt them!!!!!!! OMG! If you have not read In God's House by Ray Mouton and Mortal Sins by Michael D'Antonio they are both eye openers, something you will never forget. I will never forget a video I watched, this woman was talking about how the parish priest asked her parents if she could stay after Mass to "help with setting out candles". Of course they said yes and they would pick her up later that day. He raped that little girl and she couldn't understand what was happening but she sat out in the church yard sobbing - remembering - he had threatened her, her parents would burn in hell if she said anything to anyone. He told her it was HER FAULT.
