For alternate views of the life of Jesus, Laurence Gardner seems to be significantly more informed from first hand documents and certainly more disciplined in his due diligence. (He also has connections to some of the secret societies which may bias his work.)
After reading "Bloodline of the Holy Grail", I'm (mostly) convinced that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and that Mary Magdalene moved to France after Jesus' crucifixion along with Jesus' brother James and his family. It wasn't safe for any of Jesus' family in Judea.
If you're going to listen to Billy Carson, you should also listen to Gardner.
