Our local shelter is managed by leftists and they won't let anyone into the shelter without an appt.
While I ended up adopting a dog that lived there for 2.5 years, the Diector caused so many problems I had to threaten to sue, in order to liberate the dog.
The people managing the local shelters may not make huge salaries but many are not good people.
